16 Years Later: The Most Iconic Pretty Little Liars Moments

June 8, 2026 | 8:00 PM

Sixteen years ago, four girls stood around a funeral in matching black dresses and unknowingly launched one of television’s most addictive mysteries.

Pretty Little Liars premiered in 2010 and quickly became more than just a teen drama. It was a show built on secrets, cliffhangers, impossible plot twists, and enough suspicious text messages to make anyone throw their phone into a lake.

To celebrate its 16th anniversary, here are some of the moments that still live rent-free in my mind.

”I’m Still Here, Bitches. And I Know Everything.”

The very first text from A changed everything.

What began as a mystery surrounding Alison DiLaurentis’s disappearance suddenly became something much bigger. One anonymous message was all it took to hook an entire generation of viewers.

Alison Walking Into the Church

For years, Alison existed almost like a ghost.

Then came the moment she walked into the church alive.

We fans had spent seasons debating whether she was dead, hiding, or somehow connected to A. Seeing her appear in front of everyone remains one of the show’s most unforgettable reveals.

The Dollhouse Episodes

Pretty Little Liars was always dramatic, but the Dollhouse storyline took things to another level.

Watching the Liars trapped inside a replica world designed by A was unsettling, chaotic, and surprisingly dark for a teen series. Even years later, it remains one of the show’s strongest storylines.

Ezra in Ravenswood

Love it or hate it, nobody saw that reveal coming.

The moment Ezra was exposed as secretly researching Alison and the girls completely shifted the audience’s perception of his character. For a brief period, fans genuinely wondered whether he could be A.

Mona Revealed as A

The first A reveal remains one of the best.

Mona’s transformation from outsider to mastermind changed the series forever and proved that anyone in Rosewood could be hiding something.

The Fashion Show Scene

Pretty Little Liars understood drama.

The fashion shows, masquerade balls, black-hoodie sightings, and elaborate school events somehow happened every few weeks in Rosewood. Realistic? Not even slightly. Entertaining? Absolutely.

The Final A Reveal

Whether fans loved it or hated it, the final reveal became one of the most discussed television moments of the decade.

Few shows created as many theories, debates, and group chats as Pretty Little Liars.

That alone is part of its legacy.

Sixteen years later, the hairstyles may look different, the phones may seem ancient, and some of the storylines may make less sense than they did in 2010.

But somehow, hearing a notification sound still makes an entire generation think the same thing:

A is watching.
